Summary:
The Lux Radio Theatre was probably one of the most prestigious and longest-running shows from radio’s Golden Age. It featured the greatest superstars in Hollywood showing up in hour-long radio adaptations of their biggest motion pictures. Cecil B. DeMille was the web host (from 1936-1945) for a lavish creation of what was to become veritable checklist of several of Hollywood’s greatest films in the middle-1930s through the middle-1950s.
The stars from the movie usually appeared within their audio counterparts, although about The Lux Radio Theatre, Vol. 3 sometimes contracts or schedules supposed that another acting professional took the component. The productions were broadcast live, with a full orchestra, in front of a large studio room market. Sponsored by Lever Brothers, the manufacturers of Lux Cleaning soap, The Lux Radio Theater came to radio in 1934 and lasted until 1955 for a complete of 926 hour-long broadcasts. It transitioned to TV in thirty-minute every week installments in 1950 with Adam Mason as web host.
