Summary:
‘Millions of years back, there is a twin world to Earth…’ The year is usually 1986, with the South Pole the staff of the Snowcap Base have detected a new planet on the radar. The appearance of the physician, Ben and Polly at the Base coincides with another landing – that of a spaceship whose humanoid people have utilized cybernetics to replace their limbs and vital organs. The new arrival in the solar system is actually a tenth world, and Earth’s twin. Its return has taken with it the emotionless Cybermen, their lone aim to make sure the success of their race. To the end they intend to drain Earth’s energy into the dying Mondas, whilst using the human population as fodder for a continuing program of cyber-conversion.
