It had been a miracle of research that permitted humans to live, if not forever then for a long, long time. Some people, anyway. The wealthy, the effective, they lived their lives in the rate of 1 season every ten. Somec made two societies: that of people who lived out their normal span and passed away, and those who slept away the decades, missing on the intervening years and events. It allowed great plans to be put into motion. It allowed interstellar empires to become built. It came near to destroying humanity.

After eons of decadence and stagnation, a few seed ships were sent out to save lots of our species. Each carried human embryos, items, teaching robots, and one man. The Worthing Saga is the story of one of these guys, Jason Worthing, as well as the world he found for the seed he transported.
