Detan Honding, a wanted conman of commendable birth and ignoble tongue, has found himself in the oasis city of Aransa. He and his respected partner Tibs may possess taken off one too many cons against the city’s top notch and need to make a quick escape. They set their sights on their biggest heist however – the beautiful airship from the exiled commodore Thratia. However in the middle of his scheme, a face changer referred to as a doppel begins murdering key users of Aransa’s government. The unexpected paranoia makes Detan’s programs of stealing Thratia’s ship that much harder. And with this sudden power vacuum, Thratia can solidify her power and wreak havoc against the Empire. But the doppel isn’t doing work for Thratia and offers her own intentions. Did Detan accidentally head into a trend and a crusade? He must be careful – there’s a reason most people believe he’s deceased. And if his harmful secret gets exposed, he has a many more to get worried about when compared to a stolen airship.
