A crumbling convent college is around the verge of insolvency, whenever a young postulant begins to show strange heavenly capabilities. So when a dashing film executive arrives to buy the privileges to her tale, the Reverend Mom refuses to put profits over prayer. Playwright Charles Busch produced his name with genre-skewering strikes like Psycho Beach Party, Die Mommie Die, and The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, which L.A. Theater Works documented in 2007. This time around, we present Busch’s high-voltage spoof of spiritual melodramas, starring three of the main players from its original 2010 Off-Broadway operate.
