Peter Warlock is a magician using a dark key. Every evening, he amazes viewers at his personal theater in NY, where he performs feats that boggle the creativity. But his time job is a cover for his otherworldly pursuits: Peter can be a member of an underground group of psychics who gaze in to the future to greatly help prevent offences. No one, not even his live-in girlfriend, knows the truth about Peter-until the séance when he foresees an unspeakable action of violence which will devastate the city. As Peter and his friends rush to prevent tragedy, Peter discovers a shadowy cult of evil psychics, the Purchase of Astrum, know all about his capabilities. They are hunting him and his fellow psychics down, one at a time, driven to silence them permanently.
