Once Upon a Time

I dreamed of growing up and being just like her. I dreamed of having an adoring husband, two kids, and a lovely home where my family would get together and enjoy our content ever afters. But destiny had other plans.

My road wasn’t easy, it was heartbreaking, and she was there, in the length, silently supporting me personally. When all of the angst, all the pain, worked its way out, she was there as well, however, not how she’d often promised, she was there from an unbridgeable distance.

With length and broken claims, I started to build a wall. She would hardly ever be the mom she was, and I would not enable her to hinder the mom I am.
