When Sharon Langley was created in the first 1960s, many carnivals were segregated, and African-American families were not allowed entry. This interesting tale reveals how in the summertime of 1963, because of demonstrations and general public protests, the Gwynn Oak Enjoyment Recreation area in Maryland became desegregated and opened to all or any for the first time. Co-author Sharon Langley was the first African-American child to trip the carousel. This was on the same time of Martin Luther Ruler Jr.’s March on Washington for Careers and Freedom. Langley’s ride to remember demonstrated the options of King’s fantasy.
