Summary:
World War II has ended and a family group, mourning a son missing in action, plants a memorial tree and tries to go on with their lives. A storm blows down the tree and a damaging family secret is normally uprooted, establishing the characters on a terrifying trip towards truth. Based upon a true story, All My Child is a vintage drama by one of America’s best playwrights.
In the centre of All My Sons lies a scathing criticism of the American Desire. After its publication Arthur Miller was known as to seem about All My Sons prior to the Home Un-American Actions Committee, where he famously refused to provide proof against others.
Tony Award Champion for Best Author (1947)
AudioFile Mag review: “Among the talents of L.A. Theater Works is normally their skill at selecting quality has previously unavailable on audio. Arthur Miller’s 1947 breakthrough play is at once a postwar family members play, an indictment of fake societal values and a searing tragedy. Adam Farentino plays businessman Joe Keller using a gruff bluster that occasionally masks a sacrificial like for his boy Chris (Arye Gross), an idealist home from the battle. Julie Harris, as the mom, Kate, can be alternately needy, challenging, lovingly solicitous and willfully blind to days gone by. The live responses of the viewers underscore the details of laughter that season the early acts of the landmark American play.”
