Summary:

The classic sci-fi novel Do Androids Dream of Electric powered Sheep?, which influenced two major movies: Edge Runner and Cutting tool Runner 2049

By 2021, the World War has wiped out millions, driving whole types into extinction and sending mankind off-planet. Those that remain covet any living creature, and for people who can’t afford one, businesses build incredibly realistic simulacra: horses, parrots, pet cats, sheep. They’ve actually built human beings. Immigrants to Mars receive androids so sophisticated they may be indistinguishable from accurate women or men. Fearful from the havoc these artificial human beings can wreak, the government bans them from Earth. Driven into concealing, unauthorized androids live among human beings, undetected. Rick Deckard, an officially sanctioned bounty hunter, can be commissioned to discover rogue androids and “retire” them. But when cornered, androids fight back-with lethal force.
