All contact is lost with the first human colony on Mars during a lengthy and harmful sandstorm. Satellite television imagery of the aftermath displays extensive damage to the facility. The fifty-four colonists who known as it home are presumed dead.

3 years later, a fresh mission sets down on the planet surface to research what remains of the derelict site. But, it isn’t long before they recognize the colony isn’t as lifeless as everyone believed. Someone is still alive — concealing out somewhere.

Yet, before they can look for the elusive colonist a strange illness begins to affect the team. Pressure now mounts on Biologist, Dr. Jann Malbec, to locate the source and find ways to battle it. Nevertheless, as she investigates she starts to believe a dark and deadly key lurking within the colony. A key that threatens not just the crew but the entire inhabitants of Earth.
