Lieutenant Commander Matthew Reddy, combined with the women and men from the U.S.S. Walker, have chosen sides in a war not really of their producing. They possess allied using the Lemurians-a mammalian competition whose peaceful lifestyle is under strike in the warlike, reptilian Grik.

The Lemurians are vastly outnumbered and ignorant of warfare, as well as the guns and technology of Walker cannot turn the tide of fight. Luckily, they are not only. Reddy finally finds Mahan, the various other destroyer that approved through the rift. Collectively, both American ships will show the Lemurians to fight and stand against the bloodthirsty Grik-or so they think.

For there is certainly another vessel that does not belong on these strange seas-the massive Japanese battle cruiser Amagi, the very ship that Walker was fleeing from when the rift took them. Like Mahan, it adopted them through. And today Amagi is within the hands from the Grik.
