Summary:
Seth is a surveyor, together with his friend Theo, a leech-like creature running right through his skull who tells Seth what lays to his left and right.
In the universe containing Seth’s world, light cannot travel in all directions: there is a ‘dark cone’ to the north and south. Seth can only just face towards the east (or the western world, if he ideas his mind backwards). If he begins to turn towards the north or south, his body exercises out over the landscape, also to rotate as far as north-north-east is difficult.
about Dichronauts
Every living thing in Seth’s world is within a state of perpetual migration as they follow the sun’s shifting orbit as well as the narrow habitable zone it creates. Metropolitan areas are being continuously disassembled at one advantage and rebuilt at the additional, with surveyors mapping secure routes ahead.
But when Seth and Theo join an expedition to the edge of the habitable zone, they locate a terrifying threat: a fissure in the surface of the world, thus deep and large that no one can perceive its limits. As the habitable area continues to move, the migration will soon be blocked by this unbridgeable void, as well as the expedition provides only one substitute for save its city from annihilation: descend in to the unknown.
