Summary:
On nineteenth Hundred years Earth artist Edvard Munch hears an infinite scream go through nature. Generations later his painting of that Scream hangs inside a gallery for the barren dust world Duchamp 331. How come there a colony of artists on a world that is a bit more than a glorified garage area? What is the function the fact that passengers of the huge, opulent enjoyment cruiser ‘Gallery’ are wishing to find? And what’s concealed in the crates that litter the cargo hold? The Doctor’s journal indicates that this painting is about to become demolished in ‘inexplicable circumstances’, and when he and Ace arrive on Duchamp 331, those conditions are well underway.
