When the Doctor and Mel get to the Space Trading Colony, Iceworld, the Doctor can feel that there is certainly mischief afoot. He and Mel need not wait a long time before they discover the culprit, Sabalom Glitz.

Glitz is hot within the trail of hidden treasure, and the physician decides to become listed on him. Down in the Glaciers Passages they go – through the Snow Garden, at night Singing Trees, beyond the Lake of Oblivion – in search of the Dragon’s Treasure.

However the Doctor and his companions have no idea the true well worth of the mythical hoard. Only Kane, the most feared guy in Iceworld, knows the secret from the Dragonfire…

Bonnie Langford, who played Mel in the BBC One series, reads Ian Briggs’ own novelisation of his 1987 TV serial, which also introduces new companion Ace.
