Whilst the Elders’ head, Jano, welcomes the physician into their culture, Dodo stumbles upon a dark key at the heart of the community. The reality behind the Elders’ great knowledge is eventually revealed, and the Doctor sees it as his responsibility to end a terrible case of exploitation. Yet Jano has plans of his very own for the Doctor… With the Doctor’s faithful companion Stven finding that events upon this planet will irrevocably form his destiny, The Savages marks the ultimate appearance in the program of Peter Purves, who also supplies the linking narration for this discharge.
