The TARDIS is summoned for an ‘space cathedral’ by Shadrak Winter season, the Great Cardinal from the Cult of the Prime Self. Soon to be relieved of his post by method of assassination, Shadrak has used his family’s phoning card to create the physician to his help. His followers have long fled the Sinful, extremely contagious slug-like creatures which he himself has about Doctor Who: The Sins of Wintertime: A 12th Doctor audio original succumbed to – and which now imperil the Doctor and Clara.

As Clara discovers even more about the Cult from the Perfect Self – the fourth most popular religion – the physician becomes infected, all but misplaced to appalling guilt and self-recrimination. As he seeks to absolve himself of his recognized sins, Clara must use all her survival instincts to flee the Sinful’s improvements and rescue her susceptible friend.
