The hawaiian islands of Caldera are a glowing jewel in a rather bleak world. An awful calamity before had blanketed a lot of the world with a poisonous “fug.” Those that survived were pressured to take to the mountains and the skies in wondrous airships. Life offers since been a struggle, with only the most ruthless and crafty in a position to survive. To spare themselves the same fate, the Calderans erected a battery of guns to fight the airships from the mainland. They isolated themselves from your madness from the about Free-Wrench world, choosing instead to spotlight the pursuits of art and creativeness. Few believe the technologically advanced but socially barbarous outsiders possess anything to offer. Amanita Graus, though, is hoping that they are doing. Nita’s mother offers dropped her livelihood and perhaps soon her existence to an awful disease. Currently the dark sheep from the family for embracing executive rather than artwork, Nita resolves to leave the safety of her home and do whatever it takes to discover a treatment. For a price, the bizarre team of the airship known as The Wind Breaker are willing to offer her a gathering with their mysterious benefactors, and therefore an opportunity to procure the thing with a chance to save her mother. Free-Wrench comes after Nita’s adventures in a steampunk globe of airships and lunatics. Helping her in her journey are an eccentric team of smugglers; the gruff Cap’n Mack, the easy but enthusiastic Lil and Coop, the arrogant marksman Gunner, the surly physician Butch, and the irritable mascot Wink. To endure and find what she looks for she’ll have to make their trust, follow their guidelines, and meet in person with the individuals who draw the strings of their society.
