Nineteen-year-old Avery Delacorte loves water. Growing up in Brookline, Massachusetts, she had taken swim lessons at her community pool and captained the neighborhood team; in high school, she raced across bays and sprawling North about Lady Underwater American lakes. Right now a sophomore on her behalf university’s nationally positioned team, she problems under the excess weight of new expectations but life is usually otherwise pretty good. Perfect, really.

That changes when Avery’s red-eye home for Thanksgiving makes a ditch getting in a mountain lake in the Colorado Rockies.
