Summary:
In early spring of 2059, Lieutenant Eve Dallas is named off planet to face a grueling ordeal – giving a seminar at the largest police conference of the year, to be held in a swanky holiday resort. A holiday resort which just is actually owned by her hubby, Roarke, of course.
Despite the fact that Eve can’t quite see it that way, it’s supposed to be at least partly a vacation. But work intrudes by means of a bloody homicide, and Eve is usually off and operating. The case is normally complicated by Eve’s personal history with the sufferer – and by the killer’s background with Roarke. As danger closes in and the body count number increases, Eve must discover a way to avoid the routine of violence and revenge, and shove the past back again where it belongs.
