Summary:
It is 1164, and for 100 years England has been ruled by the Normans. A young Saxon boy named Durwin, crippled with a childhood accident, had caught the eye of the Norman sage teaching at a rural college of magic. Realizing that the boy had guarantee, Durwin was produced stableboy, and eventually allowed to attend classes.
Now 20, Durwin is proficient plenty of that he’s assigned to instruct, but the additional sages refuse to promote him and he is hassled from the Norman juniors for his disability. But those issues turn out to be the least of his concerns when he manages to correct errors within an historic corrupted spell that promptly prophesies murder.
Sure enough, phrase soon reaches the institution that one of the local count’s house sage has died, perhaps slain by dark magic. Durwin is certainly whisked away towards the nobleman’s castle, and then find that one loss of life was only the beginning. The youthful sage quickly learns of programs to assassinate Ruler Henry. Dropped in to the middle of the complicated politics of England’s royal courts, can Durwin end them with time?
