Elevated in Manhattan by her overprotective sex-therapist mother (who used “nine inches wide of shoulder pads”), Wendy Spero offers always wanted excitement in microthrills, the tiny, strange highs that provide her life meaning-from acquiring a strip tease video of her grandmother to selling knives door-to-door. As a little female, Spero passed the time sniffing fruit-scented markers and splitting up quarrels between her imaginary friends. As an adult, in her first office job, she produced an unusual romantic relationship with her boss that involved as much marijuana-smoking since it do mentoring.
