Ten-year-old Annemarie Johansen and her best friend Ellen Rosen often think about life before the war. It’s today 1943 and their life in Copenhagen is definitely filled with school, food shortages, as well as the Nazi military marching through city. When the Jews of Denmark are “relocated,” Ellen movements in with the Johansens and pretends to be among the family members. Soon Annemarie is asked to be on a dangerous mission to save Ellen’s life.
