Billie Jo has a great deal to forgive: her dad for leading to the accident that killed her mom; her mom for leaving when Billie Jo required her most; and herself to be the reason for her very own sorrow. Daddy’s too wrung out to help her, and there is no one else to treatment. Therefore at fourteen, Billie Jo must heal herself – also if it means tearing up her origins and abandoning everything she’s ever known.
