ABOUT THE WRITER: Philip Purser-Hallard has written science fiction, criticism, comedy sketches and an inordinate amount of email messages. His first book, Of the town of the Saved…, was released in 2004. His additional published works include brief fiction in The Book of the War, A Life Worth Living and Wildthyme on Top. A long-term audience, fan and critic of science fiction, he obtained his doctorate from Oxford College or university by writing on THE PARTNERSHIP between Creator and Creature in Science Fiction. This thesis, which examined the work of Olaf Stapledon, George Bernard Shaw and HG Wells amongst others, earned him the right to put the suitable initials ‘MA D Phil’ after his name. He has been employed being a teacher, secretary, chapel caretaker and researcher for the modified edition from the Oxford English Dictionary.
