Summary:
The Russian scholar, Nicolai Notovich, was the first to suggest that Christ may have attended India. In 1887, Notovich, a Russian scholar and Orientalist, found its way to Kashmir during one of the journeys towards the Orient. On the Zoji-la pass Notovitch was a visitor in a Buddhist monastery, where a monk informed him of the bhodisattva saint known as ‘Issa’. Notovitch was stunned with the amazing parallels of Issa’s teachings and martyrdom with that of Christ’s life, teachings and crucifixion.
For approximately about The Icon Enlightenment Series – Jesus In India The Misplaced Gospels 16 years, Christ travelled through Turkey, Persia, Traditional western Europe and perhaps England. He finally arrived with Mary to a location near Kashmir, where she died. After a long time in Kashmir, teaching for an appreciative inhabitants, who venerated him as an excellent prophet, reformer and saint, he passed away and was buried in a tomb in Kashmir itself.
The first rung on the ladder in Christ’s trail after the Crucifixion is situated in the Persian scholar F. Mohammed’s traditional work ‘Jami-ut-tuwarik’ which tells of Christ’s introduction in the kingdom of Nisibis, by royal invitation. (Nisibis can be today referred to as Nusaybin in Turkey) . This is reiterated in the Imam Abu Jafar Muhammed’s ‘Tafsi-Ibn-i-Jamir at-tubri.’ Kersten discovered that in both Turkey and Persia you will find ancient stories of the saint called ‘Yuz Asaf’ (‘Head from the Healed’), whose behaviour, wonders and teachings are remarkably related to that of Christ.
