A lot of professors give talks titled ‘The Last Lecture.’ Professors are asked to consider their demise also to ruminate on what counts most to them. Even though they speak, audiences can’t help but mull the same issue: What wisdom would we impart towards the world if we knew it had been our last possibility? If we’d to vanish tomorrow, what would we wish as our legacy?

When Randy Pausch, a pc science professor on the subject of The Last Lecture at Carnegie Mellon, was asked to give such a lecture, he didn’t need to imagine it simply because his last, since he had recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. However the lecture he gave–‘Really Achieving Your Years as a child Dreams’–wasn’t about dying. It was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of allowing the dreams of others, of seizing every minute (because ‘period is all you need…and you’ll find one day that you have less than you think that’). It was a summation of everything Randy got come to trust. It had been about living.

Within this book, Randy Pausch has mixed the humor, inspiration and intelligence that produced his lecture such a phenomenon and trained with an indelible form. It is a book that will be shared for decades to come.
