He has been known by countless names and terrifying deeds through the entire lands of mankind-thief, magic wielder, swordsman, assassin, adventurer. But key among those names and perhaps one of the most harmful of his personae is usually that of Nightfall, a man-or perhaps the famous demon himself-gifted with original forces which any sorcerer would kill to possess.

Yet though Nightfall has always escaped his pursuers by moving on to fresh realms, brand-new identities, and new enterprises, actually the cleverest of beings must occasionally slide. And when this expert of the night time finally falls victim to a royal capture, he finds the consequences beyond even his ability to evade.
