Set against the backdrop of China’s Cultural Revolution, a secret army project sends signals into space to determine contact with aliens. An alien civilisation on the brink of devastation captures the signal and programs to invade Globe. Meanwhile, on Earth, different camps begin forming, planning to either welcome the superior beings and help them, or even to fight against the invasion.
