Amid all this chaos an emperor learns about his subjects firsthand, a warrior battles both foes and ancient tradition, a young man tests about Paths of Bone recently obtained prowess while another learns to rely on himself, a grave robber problems to overcome new scruples even as a different youthful woman with no scruples begins to amass power, a unusual set wreak havoc, and a mysterious new threat approaches the capital. Exactly what will happen when many of these trails cross finally? Will some of them survive? Will the Relicant Empire?
