Robert Jackson Bennett’s Vigilance is a dark science fiction action parable from an America which has permanently surrendered to gun violence. AMERICA. 2030. John McDean executive produces ‘Vigilance,’ possible game show made to make sure Americans stay alert to foreign and domestic threats. Shooters are released into a ‘video game environment,’ as well as the survivors get a cash prize. The TV audience isn’t the only person that’s watching though, and McDean soon realizes what it’s prefer to be on the far side of the camera.
