James Butler Hickok, better known as “Crazy Bill” Hickok was a folk hero of the American Aged West known for being a lawman, gunfighter, gambler, and showman. He earned significant amounts of notoriety in life and in loss of life. His lifestyle has been depicted numerous situations in books, radio, television and film. His death can be quite significant – he was shot and wiped out while playing five-card stud. He was holding two pairs, dark aces, and black eights, which has become referred to as “Deceased Man’s Hands.” In 1951, about Wild Expenses Hickok, Collection 1 Kellogg’s cereals brought Crazy Costs Hickok to radio and television starring Man Madison as U.S. Marshal Crazy Costs Hickok and Andy Devine as his gravel-voiced humor sidekick Jingles P. Jones. The series used a familiar traditional western scenario liked by suppliers of Hopalong Cassidy and The Cisco Kid when a solid, fearless hero is usually along with a comic sidekick. Through the 1950s, several episodes of the television shows had been spliced together and released as 16 feature movies by Monogram Photos.
